TDR are a longstanding & valued client of TA with whom we have completed numerous retail interiors nationally and internationally. The exit of a large anchor retailer from this Johannesburg mall environment presented Tourvest Destination Retail the opportunity to relocate & consolidate both their regional administrative headquarters & warehouse operations. With TDR’s strong roots and presence in the southern african (Cape Town to Victoria Falls) retail craft & curio market, the 530 sqm interior refurb & office fit-out, in the 1970’s office tower, has a distinctly local flavour with colours, textures and materials inspiring a contemporary African look and feel. Board, meeting & training rooms are placed in a centralized pod with the ability to open and shut dependent on use. Slide away walls & doors allow for visual connections through to the perimeter cellular offices and permit for the flexibility of use as creative spaces in which the staff informally gather to strategize, share ideas & view merchandise offerings.
2 500 sqm of previously occupied department store was converted into warehouse space with a large goods lift connecting the receiving & despatch annex to an external service yard. Accommodation includes administrative offices, a training room, storage archives, a staff canteen & break-away area separate from the warehouse.
