OLD CAPE QUARTER
MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT
ABOUT this project
The newly renovated lifestyle hub is will house 55 luxury apartments, brand new retail and office spaces in a four-storey building. The Old Cape Quarter will be reimagined in modern architecture adding a stylish touch to the bustling De Waterkant district. This building is being developed by Tower Property Fund and designed by dhk Architects, the complex is being revitalised and will remain at the heart of the city. There will be partial demolition of the existing building in the redevelopment phase. This is set to strengthen the buildings core structure and allow the “insertion of a modern four-storey residential component.” The modern aesthetic of the building will feature elaborate punctured openings and timber shutters. The central courtyard will flourish through the establishment of a lively green oasis with pitched planted terraces. The project is on track for completion in 2021.
